About Oak
Oak is an open-grained hardwood with varying patterns ranging from straight grain to wide arcs. When stained, there is a noticeable difference in the color shades between the open and closed-grain areas of the wood. Wood cut from the heartwood will range from pink to reddish brown. Because of the distinct character of the grain, oak is one of the most popular wood species used for cabinetry.
